MediSave Care is a personal healthcare saving that helps pay for you and your loved ones’ healthcare needs.
If you’re aged 30 and above with severe disability* and require long-term care, you can withdraw up to $200 per month from your own, or your spouse’s MediSave via the MediSave Care scheme.

How to use MediSave Care
For example, Wei Feng’s grandmother, Mdm Foong, had to get her right foot amputated due to a diabetes infection. Due to the surgery, his grandmother now has problems walking by herself. She is also not able to change her clothes independently, and going to the toilet also proves to be an issue for her.
In such a scenario, given that the surgery has resulted in Wei Feng’s grandmother not being able to perform 3 or more ADLs, she was able to tap on her MediSave account and use MediSave Care for her needs.
In the event that Mdm Foong doesn’t have sufficient funds in her MediSave account, she is able to tap on her husband’s MediSave account for the payout.
With the additional payout of $200/month from her MediSave account, Wei Feng was able to get a wheelchair for Mdm Foong. He then made use of the subsequent payouts to arrange for home care visits for his grandmother on days when he is unable to care for her due to his busy work schedule.
At Homage, you may use your MediSave Care payouts for the following services:

You may also use your payouts to purchase long-hour packages with Homage to stretch your dollar.

How to apply
You may apply for MediSave Care by taking the following steps:
Step 1: Get assessed by a severe disability assessor
Contact a MOH-accredited severe disability assessor to undergo a disability assessment.
The assessor will conduct the disability assessment and collect an assessment fee from you. If the care recipient is assessed to be severely disabled, the full assessment fee will be reimbursed to you with the first payout.
Assessment fees are as follows:
- At an assessor’s clinic: $100
- If an assessor visits your house: $250
If your loved one is residing in a nursing home, the nursing home can help submit a Resident’s Assessment Form in place of the disability assessment. You may approach the nursing home for further assistance.
Step 2: Submit your application
Login to AIC’s website with your Singpass and apply via the website.
If you are unable to submit your application using the system, you may email [email protected] to apply.
If you are applying on behalf of someone who lacks mental capacity, please read the additional resource on this website.
Step 3: Wait for your application to be processed
AIC may take up to six weeks to process your online application. They will inform you of the outcome in writing by mail.
