COVID-19 PCR Swab Tests in Singapore

In Singapore, it is compulsory for some individuals to undergo a COVID-19 PCR swab test, such as those working in high-risk sectors, travellers, and individuals going on a cruise. You can also order a swab test voluntarily to give you greater peace of mind.

There are various types of tests used to detect the presence of COVID-19 in Singapore. Antigen Rapid Test (ART) and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) can be used to diagnose COVID-19. ART is quicker and more scalable, but PCR is usually more accurate.

Homage is a Ministry of Health (MOH) approved offsite vendor for home-based PCR tests. You can book a home swab test as soon as 3-5 hours after a form is submitted.

I don't have symptoms, should I get swabbed?

You do not need to be symptomatic to take a COVID-19 swab test. Individuals working in high-risk jobs or who simply want a peace of mind can opt to take a swab test anytime.

Do babies or children need to get swabbed?

The age limit for the swab test is 13 years-old.

The testing process follows strict procedures to minimise errors in testing. We recognise that errors are intrinsic to the testing process. This is why it is important for you to be sent to the hospital for further investigation and treatment.

We do not advise that you bring your family member along with you as it is important for you to maintain appropriate social distance from the people near you.

If there is no one around to take care of your family members, you can consider engaging a part-time caregiver for your loved ones while you are away.

How long do I need to stay in the hospital?

Your duration of stay depends on your condition. The hospital will be able to advise you further.

Do I need to pay for my COVID-19 treatment? What if I am a work permit holder?
