14 Best Health Screening Centres in Singapore

As we grow older, it is crucial to go for regular health screenings to detect any signs of possible illnesses we may have. Find out the best places you can do your health screenings in Singapore below.

While you may appear perfectly healthy on the surface, health screenings reveal what’s going on in your body and if there’s anything you should be concerned about. The main objective of a health screening is to help individuals detect signs of illness or disease early despite not displaying any symptoms. If a medical condition or disease is discovered through early screening, this allows individuals to receive the appropriate care with timely treatments.

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), general health screenings should be arranged at least once a year or once every two years. But when getting tested for more specific conditions, the intervals for each screening may vary. For instance, screenings for colorectal cancer require patients to undergo a Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) yearly while a pap smear should be done every three years to check for cervical cancer in women.

Regardless of which health screening you decide to take, ensure that you arrange appointments regularly for early detection and treatment even if you are feeling fit and healthy.

Can I do my health screening at a polyclinic?

Most Singaporeans tend to visit polyclinics often as they are the most cost-effective option compared to other healthcare providers in the country. Besides its affordability, there are 23 polyclinics island-wide, making it easy for Singaporeans to find a clinic within their area.

Despite its accessibility and affordability, polyclinics only provide health screenings for particular diseases such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and hypertension, which can only be ordered by doctors. Unlike public and private hospitals, private clinics, and other healthcare providers, polyclinics don’t offer comprehensive health screening services.

Where can I go for a health screening in Singapore?

Depending on your personal preference and budget, multiple healthcare providers across the country can provide this service. From public hospitals to private practices, here are the 14 best places for health screening in Singapore.
