Frequently asked questions: Permanent Part Time Caregiver Jobs in Singapore

How is the PPT model different from freelance caregiving?
As a PPT CarePro, you receive a guaranteed monthly base salary of $1,860, 17% employer CPF contributions ($317), a $50 monthly travel allowance, and medical benefits, a total monthly package of $2,227.
Freelance caregivers working the same hours earn approximately $1,914 with no CPF, no medical coverage, and no benefits. You also receive a dedicated coordinator who manages your roster, so you spend less time self-sourcing visits.
I am a foreign national / work permit holder. Can I apply for the PPT CarePro programme?
No. The Permanent Part-Time CarePro programme is only open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. This is a requirement of the employment model and cannot be waived. Foreign nationals and work permit holders are not eligible to apply for this role.
How many hours do I need to work each month?
The minimum commitment is 26 caregiving hours per week (113 caregiving hours per month). Only time spent actively providing care counts; travel between visits is excluded. You can take on additional visits above the minimum at the same hourly rate, up to a maximum of 190 hours per calendar month.
Do I receive CPF contributions as a PPT CarePro?
Yes. Homage contributes 17% of your base salary as the employer CPF share, that is $317 per month. Your own employee CPF contribution of $372.80 is deducted from your gross salary, giving a take-home of approximately $1,541.20 per month. CPF contributions are processed no later than the 14th of the following month.
What medical benefits and insurance are included?
PPT CarePros receive WICA (Work Injury Compensation Act) coverage and can claim outpatient GP consultations up to $40 per visit, capped at $200 per calendar year. Through the Homage-sponsored NTUC HSEU membership, you also receive NTUC GIFT insurance, with total permanent disability coverage of up to $40,000, and death benefits from $6,000 to $40,000 depending on circumstances and tenure.
What is included in the NTUC HSEU membership?
Homage sponsors your NTUC HSEU membership, which includes: NTUC GIFT insurance up to $40,000 (TPD and death coverage for you and your spouse), welfare bursaries and U Care financial assistance, UTAP and LXP training subsidies, FairPrice LinkPoints (4%), Kopitiam discounts, and reduced phone plan rates with Singtel and StarHub.
Will I be able to keep my current clients?
Homage will make every effort to retain your existing recurring clients in your PPT roster. However, this depends on the rostering logic and cannot be guaranteed. Your dedicated coordinator will work with you to maintain continuity where possible.
How does the leave policy work?
Leave is managed around your 113-hour monthly minimum. There is no fixed leave entitlement. Give at least 2 weeks’ notice for planned leave. As a guideline, keep leave to 3 to 4 working days per month. If leave creates a shortfall, apply for additional visits on the Homage app to make up the hours. For leave longer than 5 working days, notify Homage at least 1 month in advance.
Can I earn more by taking on extra visits?
Yes. Once you have met your 113-hour monthly minimum, you can continue taking on additional visits at the same base hourly rate. The weekly cap is 44 hours, and the maximum for any calendar month is 190 caregiving hours.
When and how will I be paid?
You will be paid at the end of each calendar month. CPF contributions are processed no later than the 14th of the following month. Your dedicated coordinator handles any payout queries, and you also have access to the full Homage Support channels.
Who is eligible to apply?
The PPT CarePro programme is open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only. You must be proficient in English, physically capable of personal care and mobility assistance, and open to travelling islandwide. All successful applicants must complete Homage Academy training before starting. Prior caregiving experience is helpful but not mandatory.
