Requirements and qualifications
You do not need a medical background to start as a non-medical healthcare assistant in Singapore. What matters most is a caring attitude and reliability. Before taking on visits, you will need:
- a valid CPR/AED or BCLS/AED certification
- a valid caregiver training certification
- the right to work in Singapore (roles are currently open to Singaporeans and permanent residents)
If you do not yet have these certifications, you can complete them through Homage Academy. A WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care) is an advantage for more clinical settings, but it is not required to begin.
