Homage is a MOH-approved disability assessor and can arrange one from the comfort of your home.
2. Submission of Your Severe Disability Assessment
After conducting your Severe Disability Assessment, Homage will help to submit the SDA-related documents to Singlife. Upon submission:
- It may take up to 14 days for Singlife to update you on your claim.
- If your claim is approved, you may refer to the claim notification from Singlife as to when you will receive your payout disbursement.

What is a severe disability?
An individual is considered severely disabled when they are unable to independently perform at least 3 of the 6 activities of daily living (ADLs) – washing, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility and transferring.
For Singlife CareShield Plus and Singlife ElderShield Plus policyholders, an individual is considered severely disabled when they are unable to independently perform at least 2 of the 6 activities of daily living (ADLs) – washing, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility and transferring.
What is a Severe Disability Assessment and who can perform it?
The Severe Disability Assessment evaluates an individual’s ability to perform 6 activities of daily living (ADLs) unassisted.
An Appointed Assessor will conduct the Severe Disability Assessment for you or your loved one.
It can be performed at the assessor’s clinic or during a house call. Homage is able to offer this service from the comfort of your home.
What can I expect during the Severe Disability Assessment?
The assessor will first take a look at the medical history of the patient before carrying out the physical assessment.
If the patient is alert and communicative, the assessor will ask them to do a few tasks in order to evaluate their strength and ability for each activity of daily living.
If the patient has difficulty communicating, the assessor will have the primary caregiver assist with the physical assessment.
When will I receive the results of the Severe Disability Assessment?
You will receive an email from the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) within 6-8 weeks.
After the Severe Disability Assessment, when will I receive my payouts?
After conducting your Severe Disability Assessment, Homage will help to submit the documents to Singlife for claims processing. Upon submission:
- It may take up to 14 days for Singlife to update you on your claim
- If your claim is approved, you may refer to the claim notification from Singlife as to when you will receive your payout disbursement
Can I use the Severe Disability Assessment report to apply for other grants?
Beyond CareShield Life, which is reserved for individuals with severe disabilities, the severe disability assessment report can also be used to apply for care grants which are open to persons with disabilities ranging from mild to severe. The same disability assessment result can also be used by patients to apply for other disability schemes (e.g. Home Caregiving Grant, Pioneer Generation Disability Assistance Scheme).
Do take note that some of these schemes may require you to undergo a means-testing assessment to determine your eligibility for the subsidy and the amount of subsidy you receive.
Do I need to have CareShield Life or ElderShield in order to purchase a Singlife CareShield Standard/Plus or Singlife ElderShield Standard/Plus?
Yes, you will need to have CareShield Life or ElderShield before you can purchase Singlife CareShield Standard/Plus or Singlife ElderShield Standard/Plus. These are government-approved supplement plans that can boost your CareShield Life or ElderShield payouts so that you can get the care you need during unexpected events in life. Premiums may be paid with MediSave.
What Singlife policy must I have to be eligible for the preferential rates on Homage services?
If you are an active policyholder for any of the following Singlife policies, enjoy up to 5% discount when you engage care with Homage.
Other Singlife policyholders can enjoy up to 5% discount for their first transaction with Homage. This discount applies to your first purchase of a Pay As You Go service, Prepaid Home Care Package, or Therapy Service. This discount does not apply to In-Person Care Assessments (IPCA), doctor’s consultations, telemedicine, and private ambulance services.
If I am a Singlife CareShield Standard/Plus, or Singlife ElderShield Standard/Plus policyholder, but do not have a severe disability, am I eligible for preferential rates for Home Personal Care, Home Nursing and Home Therapy?
Yes, you are. We want to be able to provide care for you at exclusive preferential rates, regardless of whether you require a Severe Disability Assessment.

Yes, you can. However, you will not be able to enjoy the exclusive care rates for Singlife policyholders.

Homage Care Professionals are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents who are passionate and dedicated to delivering quality elderly care to families and care recipients. 100% local, they are trained caregivers and licensed nurses from all walks of life.
Are Homage’s services available islandwide?
Yes, our care services are available all across Singapore. Our Care Professionals will be able to care for you in the comfort of your home.
Does Homage provide live-in caregivers?
Our caregivers currently provide 24-hour care services but not live-in caregiving. For our 24-hour care service, two caregivers will be scheduled for the visits. Care will be split into 12-hour shifts to support you and your loved one round-the-clock each day.
